Volkswagen ID. Cross in Poole Dorset

The Volkswagen ID. Cross is an all-electric subcompact crossover designed to serve as the EV counterpart to the popular T-Cross. Built on Volkswagen’s front-wheel-drive MEB+ platform, it brings affordable crossover mobility to urban drivers and small families. It is offered with 37kWh and 52kWh battery choices, delivering an official driving range of up to 271 miles. Power output spans from a sensible 114hp up to a responsive 208hp electric motor. Despite its compact 4.16-metre footprint, smart packaging delivers impressive interior cabin room and versatile cargo solutions. The interior features a 12.9-inch central touchscreen, digital driver displays, and a physical control layout for essential functions. With fast-charging capability taking the battery from 10% to 80% in 24 minutes, the ID. Cross offers a practical, modern entry point into electric crossover driving.

Design

The ID. Cross debuts Volkswagen's “Pure Positive” design philosophy, giving it a friendly yet rugged stance. An upright silhouette is complemented by full-width front and rear LED light bars, an illuminated VW logo, and subtle body cladding around the lower wheel arches. A floating roofline and short overhangs maximize its footprint while keeping exterior proportions neat. Inside, soft-touch fabric surfaces create a clean, modern atmosphere without feeling overly complex.

Drive

Powered by a single front-mounted electric motor, the ID. Cross delivers smooth and quiet acceleration tailored for everyday driving. Its raised ride height provides a commanding view of the road, while its tight turning circle makes navigating narrow city streets simple. The chassis is tuned for comfort, easily handling bumps and uneven urban tarmac. On highways, the electric powertrain stays quiet, giving the subcompact crossover a composed, reassuring feel.

Practicality

Smart electric packaging gives the ID. Cross exceptional storage capability for its size. Boot space totals 475 litres—supported by a sub-floor compartment—along with a small front frunk dedicated to storing charging cables out of the way. Passengers enjoy generous legroom and headroom, while interior utility is enhanced by a 1,200kg towing capacity, a 75kg roof rack rating, and available Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability to power external devices.

Living With It

Everyday ownership is straightforward thanks to practical hardware and fast top-up speeds. Up to 105kW DC fast charging allows quick highway stops, while standard physical steering wheel buttons bring back tactile control for frequent adjustments. A clear 12.9-inch touchscreen handles navigation and media smoothly. Combined with wireless smartphone integration, heated seating options, and advanced driver assistance systems, it easily fits into busy daily routines.

This will be either a fixed fee, or a fixed percentage of the amount that you borrow. This may be linked to the vehicle model you choose.

Lenders of vehicle manufacturers may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement. Before we propose you to a potential lender, we will tell you of the likely amount of commission we will receive and seek your consent to receiving this commission. The exact amount of commission will be confirmed before you sign your finance agreement.
