A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a proven General Sales Manager to lead our flagship Volkswagen Passenger Car dealership in Poole, managing our largest sales team within the Van Mossel Breeze network.
As part of our ambitious growth and continued investment, this key leadership role offers the opportunity to take full ownership of the sales operation and drive the team’s performance through the next stages of Van Mossel UK’s development.

Package:
- Operating hours: Monday to Friday: 8.30am - 6.00pm, Saturdays: 8.30am - 5.00pm (set day off in the week) Sundays 1 in 3: 10.00am - 4.00pm (5 days a week)
- Salary: Basic £55,000 to £60,000pa (depending on experience) / £85,000 OTE - uncapped!
We’re Looking For:
- Proven success in an automotive management role, with a strong track record of delivering results, VAG would be an advantage
- A talent for new and used car management, possessing the skills to understand market trends, margins and drive performance.
- Have experience within financial management, budgeting and dealership accounts
- A strategic thinker, with the ability to develop and execute long‑term business plans and identify opportunities for growth
- A confident leader, capable of implementing change and guiding the sales team through the next stages of the site’s development
- A genuine passion for people and maintaining a positive and cohesive team environment around the dealership
- A strong cultural fit - honest, caring, loyal, transparent, and not afraid to do things a little differently!
- Computer skills essential, Dealer web and Keyloop experience would be beneficial
- Full UK driving licence
Job Description:
- Lead, motivate and develop a high‑performing sales team to achieve and exceed all sales targets and objectives.
- Drive maximum profitability across new and used vehicle sales, finance, insurance and accessories through effective policies and procedures.
- Ensure the sales team has full knowledge of all products, pricing, promotions and marketing campaigns.
- Plan, prepare and lead structured, engaging and productive daily sales meetings, clearly communicating vision, goals and performance expectations.
- Monitor and analyse sales performance against KPIs, ensuring appropriate stock levels to meet projected sales volumes.
- Plan, oversee and evaluate sales campaigns, advertising promotional activities to maximise vehicle and additional product sales.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with department managers across the business and other key external partners.
- Maximise customer satisfaction, loyalty and retention through exceptional service standards and customer journey management.
- Review current processes and procedures regularly, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, performance and profitability.
- Monitor and control departmental administration, ensuring cost control, operating efficiency and adherence to budget.
- Ensure full compliance with company policies, manufacturer standards and industry regulations.
