Modern Slavery Statement

Modern Slavery Statement

This statement is made under Section 54 (Transparency in Supply Chains) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 relating to all businesses within Breeze Motor Group. The statement sets down Breeze Motor Group’s commitment to preventing slavery and human trafficking in our business activities and the steps we have put in place, with the aim of ensuring that there is no slavery or human trafficking in our own business and supply chains. We all have a duty to be alert to risks, however small.  Staff are expected to report their concerns and management to act upon them.

Organisational Structure & Supply Chain

Breeze Motor Group consists of a Volkswagen Passenger Car centre, three Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle centres, a Trade Parts Specialist centre and a used vehicle centre. Our six premises operate across Dorset and Hampshire within the United Kingdom.

The business trades in the supply of vehicles and parts from the respective manufacturers, for sale to our customers. The group also conducts business with various finance and insurance partners, local businesses and national suppliers for other goods and services.

Policies on modern slavery

The Company is committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our business or our supply chains. This Statement affirms its intention to act ethically in our business relationships.

The following policies set down our approach to the identification of modern slavery risks and steps to be taken to prevent slavery and human trafficking in our operations:

  • Whistleblowing policy - the Company encourages all its workers, customers and other business partners to report any concerns related to its direct activities or its supply chains.
  • Code of Conduct - The Code of Conduct sets down the actions and behaviour expected of employees when representing the Company.

Due diligence processes

The Company undertakes due diligence when considering taking on new suppliers, and regularly reviews its existing suppliers. As part of our initiative to identify and mitigate risk:

  • A policy is in place to support and protect whistle blowers
  • Our HR department follows a stringent process during the recruitment process for external and agency applicants.
  • We conduct business relationships and processes in line with our respective manufacturers UK retailing standards.
  • Aware of the risk of slavery and human trafficking when interacting with our supply chain and potential suppliers or customers.

Supplier adherence to our values

We have zero tolerance to slavery and human trafficking. We expect all those in our supply chain to comply with our values.

Training

To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chain and our business we provide relevant training for our staff.

Our effectiveness in combating slavery and human trafficking

We use the following key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure how effective we have been to ensure that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place in any part of our business or supply chains:

  • Ensure compliance with the National Minimum Wage Act and Working Time Regulations
  • Identify high risk within our supply chain and address accordingly

This statement constitutes our group's slavery and human trafficking statement for the current financial year and will be regularly reviewed and updated as necessary. The Director endorses this policy statement and is fully committed to its implementation.

Breeze Motor Company Ltd, Breeze (Southampton) Ltd and Breeze Motorcycles Limited are Appointed Representatives of Automotive Compliance Ltd, who is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA No 571076). Automotive Compliance Ltd’s permissions as a Principal Firm allows Breeze Motor Company Ltd, Breeze (Southampton) Ltd and Breeze Motorcycles Limited to act as a credit broker, not as a lender, for the introduction to a limited number of finance providers and to act as an agent on behalf of the insurer for insurance distribution activities only.

We can introduce you to a selected panel of lenders, which includes manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent. An introduction to a lender does not amount to independent financial advice and we act as their agent for this introduction. Our approach is to introduce you first to the manufacturer lender linked directly to the particular franchise you are purchasing your vehicle from, who are usually able to offer the best available package for you, taking into account both interest rates and other contributions. If they are unable to make you an offer of finance, we then seek to introduce you to whichever of the other lenders on our panel is able to make the next best offer of finance for you. Our aim is to secure the best deal you are eligible for from our panel of lenders. Lenders may pay a fixed commission to us for introducing you to them, calculated by reference to the vehicle model or amount you borrow. Different lenders may pay different commissions for such introductions, and manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement, all of which are set by the lender concerned. If you ask us what the amount of commission is, we will tell you in good time.
