Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles introduces first plug-in hybrid Transporter to the line-up
Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has opened UK order books for the new Transporter eHybrid, the first time the vehicle will be offered as a plug-in hybrid, with prices starting from £38,1551 or just £439 per month on Contract Hire.2
The eHybrid model is the same reliable and premium working van which is known and loved by drivers across the country, with a 1,132kg payload and 2,300kg towing capacity on the Panel Van model.
The Transporter eHybrid pairs a 2.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor and 11.8kWh battery, which together deliver 232PS of combined power through CVT transmission and a pure electric range of up to 35 miles, depending on bodystyle. The battery is recharged 0-100% (via a 3.7kW AC charger) in just 4.5 hours.
As demand for low-emission vans continues to grow, this new eHybrid model brings Volkswagen’s familiar quality and experience to even more drivers, with increased flexibility to meet the needs of both individuals and fleet managers.
As well as the Panel Van variant, the new Transporter eHybrid is also available in Kombi and Shuttle derivatives, with the latter emitting less than 95g/km CO2 combined WLTP CO2 (weighted). A choice of wheelbases and trim levels allows customers to select a vehicle that suits their individual commercial and personal needs.
