Volkswagen Approved Used named Best Used Car Scheme

Thinking of buying a used car? The Volkswagen Approved Used programme has just been named ‘Best Used Car Scheme’ by What Car? thanks to its market-leading benefits package. At the same awards, the Touran has been chosen as ‘Best Used MPV’, while, separately, the e-Golf was awarded ‘Best Used Electric Car’ by Auto Express.

Our Volkswagen Approved Used ‘2+2+2’ package includes two years’ warranty cover, two years’ MOT cover, and two years’ roadside assistance complementing every Volkswagen Approved Used car sale, with two years of free servicing added for any vehicle purchased under the program using a Volkswagen Financial Services (VWFS) Solutions Personal Contract Plan.

Mark Pearson, Used Cars Editor at What Car? said: “We’re delighted to give the Volkswagen Approved Used scheme the top gong this year. The recently revised scheme now gives you a rare 24-month warranty, as well as two years’ worth of MOT cover, two years’ roadside assistance and, if you buy the car through Volkswagen’s own PCP finance scheme, two free services as well. There’s also a 142-point check on each car, a 30-day/1,000-mile no-quibble exchange policy, service history checks, independent vehicle history and mileage checks and five days of complementary Volkswagen Drive Away insurance.

“On top of that, it covers cars of any age that are offered for sale on Volkswagen forecourts, up to a 100,000-mile limit. It’s this last quality that sets it apart from the few other rivals schemes that also offer 24 months’ worth of warranty cover but generally for younger cars only. All told, this scheme’s sheer breadth is unparalleled.”

In addition to the recognition for Volkswagen Approved Used, the Touran picked up another trophy from What Car? – ‘Best Used MPV’. The model continues its string of victories, having been awarded by the What Car? judges for six consecutive years in the MPV category – both in the new car and now used car spheres. The judging panel values the Touran’s relatively compact footprint combined with its interior space as well as its user-friendliness, sharp drive, and family-friendly equipment, such as Isofix fittings on all five of its spacious rear seats.

Pearson, noting the Touran’s qualities, said: “We’re delighted to present our Used MPV of the Year Award to the Volkswagen Touran this year. What really sets the practical Touran apart is that it’s both good to drive and more refined than most of its rivals. It feels more upmarket inside, too, and despite offering all the room you’d expect from a seven-seat people carrier it feels like a much smaller car when you’re threading it around tight city streets. The icing on the cake is its affordability now when bought used. In short, it’s the complete package.”

Also available through Volkswagen Approved Used is the e-Golf – the predecessor to the hugely successful ID.3 and, now, Auto Express’s Best Used Electric Car. The zero tailpipe-emissions models was bestowed with the title at the publication’s Used Car Awards, with the judging panel lauding the e-Golf’s subtlety and familiarity to those less used to electric cars – valuable attributes to drivers looking to make the switch from internal combustion to electric mobility. In fact, so successful was the e-Golf with the Auto Express panel of experts, that the publication awarded it its overall Bronze Award for used cars.

Praising the e-Golf’s qualities as its Best Used Electric Car, the Auto Express judges said: “This approach has worked brilliantly with the e-Golf. Here’s an electric car that doesn’t shout about its zero-emission tech – only the most eagle-eyed Volkswagen fans will notice the blue highlights and aerodynamic alloys that set it apart from the standard petrols and diesels. The e-Golf is smooth, silent and very easy to drive; in congestion it’s so much more relaxing than a combustion car. Yet it keeps the usual Golf perks of a spacious cabin, well-built dashboard and slick infotainment.”

Steve Fowler, Editor-in-Chief at Auto Express, added: ”The Volkswagen e-Golf proves that you don't have to dig deep to park an elegant, practical and desirable electric car on your driveway. Early models offer a 118-mile range, while later cars saw this boosted to 185 miles. But whichever you choose, you'll get the same familiar Golf interior, technology and driving experience. It's the way it normalises electric motoring and boasts an appealingly low asking price that makes it our Best Used Electric Car for 2021.”

So, if you're in the market for a used vehicle, you can't do much better than an Approved Used Volkswagen from Breeze! Pop into our showroom at Tower Park or call our team on 01202 713000.

Breeze Motor Company Ltd, Breeze (Southampton) Ltd and Breeze Motorcycles Limited are Appointed Representatives of Automotive Compliance Ltd, who is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA No 571076). Automotive Compliance Ltd’s permissions as a Principal Firm allows Breeze Motor Company Ltd, Breeze (Southampton) Ltd and Breeze Motorcycles Limited to act as a credit broker, not as a lender, for the introduction to a limited number of finance providers and to act as an agent on behalf of the insurer for insurance distribution activities only.

We can introduce you to a selected panel of lenders, which includes manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent. An introduction to a lender does not amount to independent financial advice and we act as their agent for this introduction. Our approach is to introduce you first to the manufacturer lender linked directly to the particular franchise you are purchasing your vehicle from, who are usually able to offer the best available package for you, taking into account both interest rates and other contributions. If they are unable to make you an offer of finance, we then seek to introduce you to whichever of the other lenders on our panel is able to make the next best offer of finance for you. Our aim is to secure the best deal you are eligible for from our panel of lenders. Lenders may pay a fixed commission to us for introducing you to them, calculated by reference to the vehicle model or amount you borrow. Different lenders may pay different commissions for such introductions, and manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement, all of which are set by the lender concerned. If you ask us what the amount of commission is, we will tell you in good time.
